About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Administer the daily financial management of simple or moderately complex studies for the functional area's portion of a project budget.
  • Review contract and bidding assumptions.
  • Analyze budget-to-actual data monthly or as specified.
  • Update resource forecasts and unit grids with project leads.
  • Present and resolve issues involving resource forecasts, unit grids, and contract modifications.
  • Oversee financial aspects of the functional area's portion of projects with other departments and project leads.
  • Assist project teams in identifying risks and defining reasons for unsupported hours.
  • Attend risk meetings as needed.
  • Prepare estimates for contract modifications.
  • Work cross-functionally with departments and functional project leads to complete assigned tasks on time.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, mathematics or related field, or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification
  • 2+ years of previous experience providing relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • 2+ years of complex project management experience is preferred
  • Strong budgeting and forecasting skills
  • Solid analytical skills and ability to handle data effectively
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Good understanding of project management principles and application
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Solid organizational skills with ability to adjust to changing priorities
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Ability to provide mentorship and promote teamwork in a multidisciplinary team setting
  • Equivalency through a combination of appropriate education, training, and directly related experience may be considered
