About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive sales growth in the Clinical Trials Division by developing and implementing strategies for new and existing accounts
  • Build an internal network supporting client success across subject-matter experts, site leadership, and client services
  • Identify new target clients and molecules and follow up on leads from prospecting, inside sales, business development associates, and referrals
  • Expand market share for clinical packaging, labels, distribution, storage, comparator sourcing, and clinical demand planning services
  • Establish relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and C-suite clients
  • Develop strategic relationships with biotech customers and influence future strategic direction
  • Connect with cross-divisional sales and business units across Thermo Fisher Scientific
  • Develop a detailed territory plan
  • Create and implement sales programs for prospective clients
  • Analyze funding mechanisms, sources, and flows for emerging biotech companies
  • Attend tradeshows, conferences, and seminars for awareness and lead generation
  • Identify and communicate the value proposition and strategic service-bundling opportunities
  • Lead ongoing relationships with existing clients
  • Enable winning quotations and support contract negotiations
  • Maintain all relevant activities and prospective-client information in the SFDC database

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience working within the clinical supplies industry is highly desired
  • Good knowledge of the clinical drug development process
  • Professional background in sales or business development within the Americas
  • Professional presentation skills and ability to network within senior management ranks
  • Familiarity working within a matrix environment with clients and internally
  • Dynamic, highly self-motivated individual with outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Salesforce is preferred
  • Ability to establish a functional home-office environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of working time within the territory, including regular overnight stays
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
  • 5–8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding targets
  • Preferred fields of study: life sciences, business, or related field
