About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Line-manage an assigned team of highly skilled and specialized Field Service Engineers
- Manage performance and development of the assigned FSE team
- Communicate internally with the team
- Lead and facilitate regular team meetings
- Coordinate regularly with the sales and service team
- Schedule staff efficiently
- Review FSE support requests with 2nd line support
- Manage escalations
- Participate in customer meetings
- Handle critical customer communication with the service manager
- Ensure health and safety protocols are followed
- Coordinate technical and non-technical training
- Support regional service manager installation planning and preparation with the Regional Installation Project Manager and regional experts
- Take on field service activities typically 50% of normal working hours depending on team size
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechatronics, electronics/engineering, or equivalent
- 3–5 years of experience in a related field
- Experience with TEM and/or SEM/SDB and/or XPS products is a plus
- Experience managing a team of Field Service Engineers is a plus
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing high-tech systems
- Technical competence corresponding to Engineer II level or higher
- Electron Microscopy preferred
- Excellent communication skills in English, German or French at B2 level or above are preferred
- Highly organized and able to control administrative tasks
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Negotiation skills and commercial mindset
- Challenges the status quo and seeks opportunities to improve
- Valid driving license (B)
