About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and develop a team of project managers
  • Drive successful delivery of global central laboratory studies from startup through closeout
  • Own complex studies and ensure timelines, budgets, quality, and execution
  • Serve as a key sponsor contact and build strong client relationships
  • Manage client expectations and proactively identify and mitigate risks
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors
  • Guide project strategy and resolve escalations
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, scalability, and efficiency
  • Manage, motivate, recruit, train, develop, and assess project management staff
  • Write, evaluate, amend, deploy, review, revise, and implement procedures and SOPs
  • Monitor SOP and key task compliance
  • Liaise between sponsors and PPD internal departments during study conduct
  • Control, manage, and delegate day-to-day clinical trial activities
  • Conduct regular face-to-face client meetings and address client concerns
  • Manage client- and program-level oversight and relationships
  • Plan and support team member workflows
  • Mentor and coach team members on development and efficiency
  • Serve as backup for the Associate Director PM and advise on action plans

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
  • 5+ years of comparable experience
  • 1+ year of leadership responsibility
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and directly related experience may be considered
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills for data analysis and presentation
  • Critical thinking skills for quality decision-making
  • Advanced knowledge of project management theories, principles, and best practices relating to lab operations
  • Strong attention to detail and compliance with procedures and policies
  • Effective client relationship management skills
  • Strong supervisory and management skills
  • Proficiency in problem solving and prioritizing
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Ability to multitask and handle pressure
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, including drug screening
  • Ability to communicate and understand information with diverse groups
  • Ability to work upright and stationary during typical working hours
  • Ability to use and learn standard office equipment and technology
  • May require travel
