About the role
- Support the needs of customers implementing Lab Developed Tests on the software/analysis for our Thermo Fisher Scientific / Ion Torrent / Oncomine™ product portfolio
- Own the implementation of assays and products / clinical solutions within customer sites
- Troubleshoot clinical support issues with a customer first approach
- Improve customer value/satisfaction by aligning complex product solutions with key customer initiatives
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers
- Work with Oncology Sales to develop a commercial strategy
- Review and assist customers with analyses of their Ion Torrent data
- Help design and conduct experiments to assist in evaluations of products
- Promote new clinical product solutions at customer sites
- Collaborate with the Oncology Sales Team and support partners to set up customer support strategy
- Maintain consistent communication with counterparts and summarize updates for management
- Obtain successful adoption of technology within applied markets
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Computer Science or Information Systems preferred
- Knowledge of molecular Oncology is required
- Experience in bioinformatics application is required
- Linux/Unix scripting and system management experience is strongly desirable
- Hands-on experience with Python, Java is preferred
- Previous experience as application specialist desirable (NGS experience desirable)
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Ability to understand and articulate complex scientific literature
- Strong drive for success
- Medical background, laboratory experience, and/or managed care knowledge desirable skills
- Understanding regulatory guidelines (CAP, CLIA, NYSDH, etc.)
- Fluent English required; additional languages beneficial.
