About the role

  • Lead and execute the growth strategy for the Vaccines book of business, driving business expansion through pipeline analysis, market assessment, and enterprise collaboration.
  • Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of therapeutic studies, portfolios, and client engagements.
  • Maintain expertise in the evolving scientific, clinical, and regulatory landscape for vaccines, including biomarkers, digital endpoints, and precision medicine.
  • Collaborate with other leaders to leverage synergies across related therapeutic areas, driving operational efficiency and innovation in study delivery and scientific approaches.
  • Partner with Business Development to retain and expand key client relationships, participate in strategic discussions, proposal development, and bid defenses.
  • Implement systems and processes that ensure compliance, quality, and efficiency while developing proactive risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure effective management of budgets, forecasts, and profitability targets across programs and drive resource optimization and fiscal accountability.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline required; advanced vaccines background strongly preferred.
  • Deep and current knowledge of the scientific, clinical, regulatory, and competitive landscape related to vaccines (preventative and/or therapeutic).
  • Strong global awareness and understanding of the development and delivery environment within therapeutic areas.
  • Proven commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to translate strategies into therapeutic business unit profitability and sustainable growth.
  • Demonstrated executive presence, gravitas, and strategic influence across complex stakeholder networks.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and lead high performing, global cross-functional teams through change and growth.
  • Strong customer management skills, including the ability to engage at the executive level, navigate complex negotiations, and drive impactful client outcomes.
  • In-depth understanding of the biopharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, clinical trial operations, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, including excellent command of the English language.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, learning agility and commitment to continuous professional growth.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
