About the role

  • Become a change agent supporting our environmental sustainability objectives.
  • Work with the businesses, procurement, and R&D to set strategy on supplier selection and supplier compliance.
  • Engage key suppliers in support of Thermo Fisher’s net zero goals and Scope 3 emissions reduction ambitions.
  • Educate suppliers on greenhouse gas emissions topics including carbon foot printing, GHG emissions base-lining, renewable electricity and decarbonization road mapping.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to establish timelines and achievements for meeting Thermo Fisher supply chain sustainability expectations.
  • Support the development and distribution of content related to decarbonization such as supplier toolkits and trainings.
  • Drive supplier adoption of digital solutions for managing supplier engagement and emissions data sharing.
  • Support sustainable procurement objectives and advise on preferred supplier lists and other compliance initiatives.
  • Monitor all actions and benchmarks to uphold net-zero goals and ensure high data quality.
  • Engage with key collaborators across a variety of business functions, developing trust and rapport with senior leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Business, or Environmental Sciences preferred.
  • 7+ years of work experience.
  • Experience in engaging with suppliers, R&D, and procurement organizations.
  • Background in life sciences, biotech, pharma, and/or sustainability consulting preferred.
  • Proven passion for environmental sustainability; solid understanding of environmental sustainability preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, capable of engaging with new collaborators to achieve positive results.
  • Strong project management experience including understanding of project management methodologies.
  • Consistent record of collaborating across teams with outstanding capability to follow-up and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently, within a team, and collaboratively in a matrixed organization.
