About the role

  • Drive the technical vision, build, and implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure, with a primary focus on AWS and Azure.
  • Establish and implement standard methodologies for multi-account architecture, IAM, networking, and service deployment models.
  • Advocate for and participate in Infrastructure as Code frameworks (such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
  • Hybrid Cloud & Hypervisor Strategy Partner with Architecture, Platform, and Infrastructure teams to define the enterprise hybrid cloud roadmap, ensuring seamless integration across cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Lead technical evaluations and strategy development for next-generation hypervisor platforms to support dynamic workloads.
  • Provide oversight on workload placement, cost modeling, and interoperability across platforms (e.g., VMware, AWS, Azure, edge compute).
  • Mentorship & Team Development Fulfill the role of mentor and main contact for engineers specializing in cloud, automation, and infrastructure.
  • Cultivate an inclusive and forward-thinking engineering culture through code reviews, building sessions, and peer mentoring.
  • Promote a strong engineering identity through technical leadership forums, documentation, and standards.
  • Collaboration & Collaborator Alignment Act as a trusted advisor to Enterprise Architects, Application Owners, and InfoSec teams to align on solution patterns, security controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with PMO and delivery teams to ensure predictable delivery of infrastructure solutions aligned with business timelines.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to communicate technical risks, roadmap decisions, and trade-offs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years in IT infrastructure, and/or cloud engineering
  • Proficient knowledge in automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
  • Proven success leading complex infrastructure projects
  • Effective communication and leadership skills
  • Certifications not required, but encouraged: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge in cloud design, infrastructure as code (IaC), and scalable automation
