About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Verify timesheets and calculate gross to net pay.
- Maintain and update payroll records including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and benefit deductions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable wage and hour laws, including overtime and minimum wage requirements.
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, taxes, and timekeeping.
- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee records and payroll information.
- Ensure compliance across multiple Union contracts and AG Wage Order contracts.
- Ensure garnishment compliance.
- Maintain check registers and positive pay files for accuracy.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 1+ years’ experience in payroll, accounting, or related field is preferred including multistate and multi-pay group payrolls.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and knowledge of Dayforce HCM (Human Capital Management) system preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Thrive in a high-pressure environment to meet deadlines.
- Strong ability to analyze payroll data, identify discrepancies, and resolve complex payroll issues.
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, and customer service skills.
