About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the enterprise head of Global Trade Services with ultimate accountability for the centralized shared services hub, corporate governance architecture, and global trade spend
- Establish standardized operational KPIs, communication cadences, and cost-containment metrics for decentralized segment Trade Champions
- Direct business case creation and cross-functional budget sign-off for multi-year capital investments and duty optimization programs
- Drive strategic alignment with Corporate Tax, Corporate Sourcing, Treasury, Finance, Product, and segment executives
- Sponsor modernization of trade automation using scalable, compliant, human-in-the-loop AI and standardized system-embedded controls
- Partner with Legal and Government Public Affairs to monitor trade legislation, geopolitical shifts, and international supply chain policies
- Translate tariff trends and trade policy developments into corporate guardrails, sourcing risk analytics, and supply chain changes
- Serve as final internal functional signatory and reviewer for non-routine government inquiries, prior disclosures, and regulatory remediations
- Sponsor creation and global delivery of trade awareness, proficiency, and expert training initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- 15+ years of progressive executive leadership experience directing global trade compliance, international supply chain operations, corporate regulatory auditing, or closely related matrixed financial/sourcing functions within a large public multinational enterprise
- Proven track record managing 9-figure duty portfolios
- Experience establishing or restructuring centralized corporate shared service hubs / Centers of Excellence (COE)
- Experience delivering measurable duty savings and margin enhancement to the P&L
- Comprehensive technical knowledge of international customs valuation and classification mechanics, including transfer pricing, assists, royalties, and First Sale
- Knowledge of complex export control regimes, including EAR, OFAC sanctions, technology transfers, and access controls
- BA/BS in International Business or Economics preferred
- Customshouse Brokers License ideal
