About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance identity experiences including login, registration, account management, and profile flows across Disney’s web platforms.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate business and user requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Lead the development and delivery of complex features spanning multiple systems and teams, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability.
- Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code while enforcing engineering best practices, including automated testing and code reviews.
- Serve as a technical leader and mentor, supporting team members through guidance, knowledge sharing, and constructive feedback.
- Drive improvements in engineering standards, tooling, architecture, and development processes to enhance team productivity and system quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and help evolve the identity platform to support scale, security, and future growth.
- Partner with cross-functional teams across commerce, streaming, security, and platform engineering to deliver cohesive identity solutions.
- Support software throughout its lifecycle, including deployment, monitoring, observability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience
- Basic foundational programming knowledge of web based applications
- Experience working within a modern Javascript workflow
- Proven ability to learn, understand, and adapt to new technologies
- Self-learner who identifies root causes and drives solutions
- Ability to write code that is easy to read and understand that follows standard methodologies
- Highly thorough with the ability to clearly detail work
- Exhibits emotional intelligence, managing oneself under high pressure/stressful situations and meets urgent timelines
- Optimally collaborates and communicates with team members
- Experience shipping a production React/Node.js application (preferred)
- Experience with developing applications in cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) (preferred)
- Experience working with Agile methodologies (preferred)
- Working knowledge of web accessibility fundamentals (preferred)
