About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build features, maintain existing code, and fix bugs in JavaScript/TypeScript and React
- Implement best practices to continually increase performance and scalability
- Collaborate with the team to peer review code and suggest optimizations
- Advocate for quality through innovation, curiosity and thoughtful debate
- Collaborate with team and peers to design complex applications and peer review code
- Explore new technologies, and suggest additions to the existing tech stack
- Investigate and help resolve any production issues from end user (UI) to service layer and work to prevent them
- Work with project managers to ensure that all project deliverables are on time and high quality
Requirements
What you’ll need- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or another technical field
- Have 3+ years of experience in web application development or software engineering in a large enterprise environment using modern frameworks
- Expertise in HTML & CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript and React Library
- Experience with Tailwindcss or SCSS
- Experience with Node.js and Next.js or Express.js
- Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, Mocha, Vitest)
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Organized, detail-oriented and able to deliver project tasks on time
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly motivated, self-starting individual
- Have a track record of championing quality engineering: be adamant that all UI code is accessible and written in a way that can be tested
- Have an understanding of browsers, devices, and other user agent interoperability and compatibility concerns
- Have experience working with high-performing teams using Agile and Lean methodologies and frameworks
- Be a perfectionist who makes sure every pixel is in the right place
- Care about your craft and have opinions about the “right” way to do things with technology.
