About the role

  • Building scalable, elegant solutions for the Disney+ Android application across phones, tablets, and TVs
  • Collaborate with many cross-functional teams
  • Maintain high code quality standards with unit tests, automated tests, modern libraries, and a Kotlin codebase
  • Build Live and video-on-demand (VOD) applications
  • Contribute to a large project and participate in meetings and code reviews
  • Be coached and receptive to feedback

Requirements

  • Quality communication skills who can collaborate well across teams
  • Comfortable with Git basics
  • Coachable and receptive to constructive feedback
  • 1+ years of production experience with the Android SDK (preferred)
  • Experience using common Android libraries (preferred)
  • Experience with unit testing (preferred)
  • Familiar with architectural patterns (MVI/MVVM or equivalent) (preferred)
  • Some experience with Reactive Programming or Dependency Injection (preferred)
  • Experience with Kotlin, Java, Android SDK, Dependency Injection, Gradle, Databases, Reactive paradigms, coroutines (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
