About the role
- Support the review and validation of scoring models: assess build process, performance and implementation
- Review and refine machine learning models to support model development
- Assess data analysis techniques to evaluate credit policies, identify exceptions and provide actionable insights
- Conduct peer reviews of predictive models, review key analyses and perform strategic implementation reviews
- Perform performance monitoring and controls across policy areas and carry out ad hoc analysis
- Work closely with policy teams to contribute to regular performance reviews and strategic initiatives
- Manage stakeholder expectations, prioritise workload and consistently add value to customers and the business
- Report to the Analytical and Scoring Model Review Manager and operate within a small specialised team in the Credit Risk department
Requirements
- Comfortable with SQL, SAS and knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Python advantageous but not essential
- Degree educated in a relevant field (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science) and/or practical experience in a similar role
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience of Credit Risk or Financial Services advantageous but not essential
- Curious, analytical and logical by nature with a keen eye for detail
- Confident, can-do attitude and general hunger to add value and develop
- Team player who can quickly establish relationships with the existing team and key stakeholders
- Confidence to challenge and ask the right questions
- Required to undertake credit, CIFAS, Right to Work checks and possibly a DBS check; disclose any unspent criminal convictions if applicable
