About the role

Design, build and run front-end and/or back-end software solutions in an agile delivery squad
Full software development life cycle ownership including coding practices, frameworks, tech debt and operations
Collaborate with Engineers, Business Analysts, Product Owners and Architects to design and deliver systems
Identify, build and influence adoption of software engineering standards and tools
Design and lead application and database design and data flows with consideration of technical and business impact
Own code quality, non-functional requirements (performance, security, scalability) and real-time logging/monitoring/alerting
Enhance continuous integration and deployment processes
Identify and mitigate obstacles, risks and issues impacting technical products
Provide run support and mentor other team members
Champion squad engineering successes and leverage external technology landscape

Significant experience of building, integrating, maintaining and managing complex software architectures, ideally across multi-cloud environments
Significant experience of Java, Spring, AWS components, pipeline technologies e.g. GitLab CI
Demonstrable experience of supporting and guiding less experienced Software Engineers
Passionate about code quality, testing and other engineering best practices
Significant experience of building software applications with security, reliability, scalability, high availability and concurrency
Strong collaborator and communicator
Computer Science degree or relevant experience
Hands-on software engineering background and current experience
Confident to share stories internally and externally to build employer brand
Continual interest in Technology and Engineering landscapes
