  • Identify applicable reportable cases for cancer registry abstract entry according to national and central registry requirements
  • Abstract analytic and non-analytic cases according to Commission on Cancer standards
  • Perform annual follow-up review on all active patients
  • Interact with patients and designated contacts discreetly and professionally

  • Share information appropriately with other organizations within HIPAA treatment, payment and operations regulations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associates Degree in a health-related field
  • Certified Tumor Registrar certification from the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA)
  • Extensive knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy and physiology
  • Ability to identify applicable reportable cases for abstract entry according to governing cancer registry bodies
  • Ability to abstract analytic and non-analytic cases according to Commission on Cancer standards
  • Ability to perform annual follow-up review on all active patients
  • Ability to maintain work records, policies and procedures
  • Ability to meet department quality, performance and production standards
  • Ability to use software edits to assure quality and populate required fields
  • Ability to perform the professional, clinical and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
  • Epic and Cancer Registry software experience preferred
