About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform x-ray procedures to produce diagnostic images
- Operate fixed and mobile x-ray equipment throughout assigned departments and facilities
- Provide imaging services in high-acuity, surgical and outpatient areas
- Participate in patient transport and support timely patient care and satisfaction
- Follow policies, procedures, safety, infection-control and state and national requirements
- Provide input to radiology physician leadership regarding patient care and interactions
- Assist with process-improvement information collection
- Support continuing education and training of student technologists and staff
- Report potential hazards, safety concerns and unsafe behaviors to radiology leadership
- Complete mandatory educational assignments
- Perform the professional, clinical and technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school graduate
- Graduate of a 2-year accredited Radiology Technology program
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT) through the State Board of Healing Arts for Kansas locations, within 90 days
- Radiography (R) certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Ability to operate all fixed and mobile x-ray equipment
- Experience required in high-acuity areas, surgical areas and less acute outpatient settings
- Ability to use computer systems for patient testing and retrieval of quality and performance data
- Ability to understand and follow current state and national rules, regulations and practices
- Additional language is a plus
