About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a student caseload through educational advisement and guidance on university policies and procedures
- Provide coaching and advising to support student retention and graduation
- Correspond regularly with students by phone and email to promote retention and student success
- Develop rapport and constructive working relationships with students and staff
- Diagnose student opportunities in time management, technical skills, and classroom proficiency, using available resources to improve success
- Monitor student attendance and grades in the database to assure retention and progression
- Create and execute daily, weekly, and monthly communication/contact plans for course completion and persistence
- Maintain active, personalized student engagement while assessing likelihood of success and required service level
- Collaborate with enrollment services, student accounts, student finance, academics, registrar, managers, and peers
- Communicate policy and procedure improvement ideas to leadership
- Define and interpret UAGC policies and procedures for students
- Maintain working knowledge of Federal, State, and Institutional Policies governing Title IV student aid programs
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook
- Ability to research, gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
- Ability to investigate, analyze information, and draw conclusions
- Ability to engage in critical thinking and exercise independent judgment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage confidential information
- Knowledge of customer service strategies and conflict resolution
- Knowledge of and skills in applying Emotional Intelligence
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, Zoom, and Teams
