About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process and issue employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions.
  • Calculate wages, deductions, and enter data into computer systems.
  • Review various records to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
  • Compile employee time, production, and payroll data from various records.
  • Enter employee information into the payroll system for new hires.
  • Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, maintaining designated records.
  • Record employee information such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations for payroll updates.
  • Issue and record pay adjustments for errors or retroactive increases.
  • Track employee leave time, including vacation, personal, and sick leave.
  • Provide information to employees and managers regarding payroll matters, tax issues, benefit plans, and collective agreement provisions.
  • Assist with HRIS implementation, including testing and other assigned duties.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience with the UKG/ADP platform preferred.
  • Previous payroll experience.
  • Understanding of BC Employment Standards, tax regulations, and related legislation.
  • Basic accounting knowledge.
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) credential or working towards PCP designation is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ADP is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows (Excel, Word).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
