About the role
- Establish and maintain a trusting, cooperative relationship with local works councils at our stores, in alignment with TJX cultural values
- Advise leaders on works council and co-determination matters under German Works Constitution law, and prepare recommendations including risk assessments for matters requiring co-determination
- Develop and align negotiation strategies; draft and negotiate works agreements; prepare and conduct conciliation board proceedings (Einigungsstelle), if required
- Review and assess works council resolutions and develop, align and implement appropriate courses of action
- Design and further develop HR-related processes, policies and document templates to ensure legally compliant and efficient co-determination management
- Ensure consistent processes and standards across our stores in Germany in coordination with the Manager of Employee Relations
- Willingness to travel up to 40% within a region in Germany
Requirements
- Degree with a focus on labor/employment law, human resources, or an equivalent qualification
- Several years of experience in constructive cooperation with works councils
- Confident working across multiple locations within a matrix structure and communicating at all levels of the organization
- High level of commitment, personal responsibility and strong problem-solving skills, combined with a hands-on mentality
- Team player with integrity and a genuine enjoyment of developing solutions collaboratively
- Very good written and spoken English
