The TEAK Fellowship

Director

• Serve as a TEAK Dean, providing academic and social-emotional advising for ~35 Fellows (7th & 8th grade)
• Serve as Summer Institute Class Dean (student growth concerns, field trips, Summer Institute staff duties)
• Support TEAK programming through committees, Saturday programming, and additional duties
• Serve as a Reader for the Admissions Committee
• Participate in Admissions Committee processes
• Review High School Placement letters of recommendation
• Supervise one off-site afterschool program (logistics, Google Classroom setup, sectioning)
• Review and publish Middle School Academy and Summer Institute grade reports (Salesforce)
• Ensure Salesforce records are up to date (attendance, grades, engagement, success plans, status reports)
• Teach one SEL section and one section of Humanities or Math during the school year and Summer Institute.
• Track and support Fellows’ academic progress and social-emotional development
• Maintain accurate and updated student records in Salesforce
• Support Fellow success planning and interventions
• Meet regularly with Fellows and maintain records (check-ins, status reports in Salesforce)
• Provide advising through Guided Study Halls and Office Hours
• Refer students for counseling support as needed
• Meet with the Director of Counseling to discuss students of concern
• Provide individual essay support
• Serve as primary point of contact for Fellows’ families
• Schedule and lead family meetings
• Maintain ongoing communication with families
• Assist with administration of one additional TEAK program associated with Middle School Academy (Cultural Arts at TEAK on Saturdays, Mentorship, Fellows Forum, Career Programming)

Assistant Director – Middle School Academy

Communications

• Engage in outreach to school partners, community centers, libraries, churches, and other organizations to help promote The TEAK Fellowship and recruit qualified applicants to TEAK
• Assist in planning and executing all recruitment events; managing event registrations, such as information sessions and testing dates through TEAK’s website and inquiry phone line; communicating with families to confirm attendance
• Co-present at information sessions held throughout NYC
• Communicate with families and school counselors throughout the admissions process, from inquiries to final admission decisions
• Lead the day-to-day management of the general admissions email account, including monitoring communications, responding to inquiries/questions, processing documents, and triaging requests
• Manage admissions inquiries from the TEAK website and phone line and follow up with families promptly
• Help create and maintain applicants’ electronic files; meticulously manage applicants through their admissions process, including document upload, process workflows, decisions, and other critical pieces of information
• Update and maintain admissions database with contact information for school partners, CBOs, inquiries, and applicants
• Proctor admissions testing for prospective applicants 3-5 weekends a year
• Assist with all recruitment administrative tasks and processes
• Serve as a member of the Admissions Committee (read files, participate in Admissions Committee selection meetings, interview applicants/families)
• Lead and implement Alumni Finalist Interview process, including recruitment, training, and correspondence
• Develop and execute social media campaigns that support TEAK’s admissions, recruitment, development, and communications goals
• Work with the Development & Communications team to create, schedule, and manage content across TEAK’s social media platforms
• Collaborate with the Admissions and Development & Communications teams to create compelling content highlighting TEAK students, alumni, programs, events, and organizational impact
• Monitor social media performance, research emerging trends and platforms, and help maintain TEAK’s year-round content calendar
• Support the updating of the Admissions webpage to reflect accurate deadlines and information sessions
