About the role

  • Oversee all the bank’s accounting functions and provide growth strategies
  • Direct all financial activities including reporting, planning, supervision, and investments
  • Assist Executive Team with forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning
  • Prepare and/or coordinate preparation of annual tax returns and financial statements
  • Prepare business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and regulatory reports
  • Serve as member or Chairman of the bank’s ALCO committee
  • Supervise staff performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and budgeting
  • Maintain knowledge of organizational policies, federal/state directives, and current accounting standards
  • Conduct or coordinate audits to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements
  • Authorize and record disbursements according to company policies
  • Monitor financial activities and reserve levels to meet legal and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor and evaluate accounting and financial staff performance; recommend personnel actions
  • Coordinate financial planning, budgeting, procurement, and investment activities
  • Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for budget, cash/credit management, and accounting
  • Analyze financial details of past, present, and expected operations to identify opportunities and improvements
  • Evaluate funding needs and investment of surpluses and make recommendations
  • Lead staff training and development in budgeting and financial management areas

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from a four-year college or university required (Master’s Degree Preferred)
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Four or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in PC software such as Excel, Word, and Access
  • Excellent attention to detail and emphasis on accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, listening, and written
  • Ability to work well under pressure, set priorities, meet deadlines, and resolve highly complex financial problems
