About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the development and production of statutory financial reports including the Annual Statements, Quarterly Statements and Audited Financial Statements for all insurance subsidiaries
- Manage a team to complete monthly and quarterly close activities
- Ensure regulatory compliance, quality, and internal accounting controls
- Oversee the preparation of internal financial management reports and board reporting materials
- Effectively communicate statutory financial results to senior management
- Manage the preparation and submissions required by state insurance regulators
- Coordinate with individuals across the enterprise to provide detailed financial and statistical information in specific formats requested by rating agencies, state insurance examiners and other organizations in the insurance industry
- Prepare analysis, presentations and recommendations regarding statutory data and results
- Manage, coach, and develop team members
- Identify and execute opportunities to create efficiencies, scale the team, foster knowledge sharing across the organization, and optimize operating model across a global workforce
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
- CPA, CMA or MBA (preferred)
- 8 years of combined experience in insurance industry statutory reporting, financial reporting, management reporting, and supervisory experience or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience
- Work experience with public auditing and regulatory agencies (preferred)
- Supervisory experience leading a team and providing coaching, mentorship and development opportunities
- ERP experience with data extraction and report building (preferred)
- MS Office -- advanced Excel (required)
- Power BI (preferred)
