About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct advanced research using subscription databases, public records, and online sources to support fraud investigations.
- Analyze insurance applications, claims, and other transactions to identify potential fraud indicators.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and objective reports summarizing research findings and investigative results.
- Partner with internal teams and external vendors to support fraud detection and prevention efforts.
- Mentor and train team members on research techniques, investigative processes, and information resources.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s in criminal justice preferred, high school diploma required
- 3+ years of experience with customer contact in a high-volume service environment
- 2+ years of experience working in a Special Investigations Unit (SIU) or equivalent insurance-related investigative role.
- Experience conducting online research using public records, subscription databases, social media platforms, and open-source intelligence tools.
- Knowledge of insurance operations, including claims, underwriting, policy administration, or fraud detection activities.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and investigative skills with the ability to identify and evaluate relevant information.
- Experience preparing professional written reports, summaries, or investigative documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners such as Claims, Underwriting, Analytics, or external investigative vendors.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of persistence with proven problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
