Key responsibilities & impact

Help facilitate and foster sound underwriting and business decisions
Develop effective relationships and contribute toward the growth of the underwriting department
Oversee day-to-day production activities of the team, training and developing the underwriters
Regular communication between our sales organization and other parts of the organization
Apply sound and creative underwriting and business judgments to contribute to organizational growth and profitability
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with assigned field personnel, producers, and internal teams
Actively participate in projects and provide team members to participate in projects

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in business is preferred, additional experience in lieu of degree
3-5 years of experience in a leadership position.
5-7 years of experience in Life, Absence, and Disability underwriting, preferably in national accounts
Strong leadership experience and proven ability to understand, mentor, and guide the intricate work of a high-performing underwriting team.
Proven ability to partner with and meet the expectations of sales partners and brokers using strong interpersonal relationship skills and business acumen.
