Lead the development and implementation of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices to support Combat Systems (CS) architecture and design, transitioning traditional processes into a fully digital engineering environment.
Develop comprehensive CS system architectures in compliance with systems engineering processes, open architecture standards, and Department of Defense (DoD) engineering guidelines.
Coordinate cross-functional engineering development activities, ensuring alignment of functional and system-level requirements with overall system capabilities and mission objectives.
Apply Agile, Lean, SAFe, and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) methodologies to optimize systems engineering processes and ensure efficient development cycles.
Develop and deliver MBSE artifacts, including SysML/UML models of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), system requirements, architecture models, and simulation scenarios to support Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) development.
Conduct detailed analyses to create and manage requirements, generate specifications, and develop CONOPS and system timelines; perform functional decomposition and use case analysis in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Utilize requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS and DOORS Next to ensure traceability, version control, and integration of system requirements with MBSE artifacts.
Employ advanced modeling tools including Cameo, MagicDraw, Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody, or equivalent to construct and manage system and subsystem models throughout the development lifecycle.
Support the generation and validation of system and subsystem architectural views, including functional, physical, power, safety, and cybersecurity domains.
Collaborate closely with program management, software/hardware teams, cybersecurity experts, and government customers to ensure system designs meet operational, security, and performance requirements.
Mentor junior engineers in MBSE methodologies, tool usage, and modeling standards, contributing to the organization's digital engineering transformation.
