About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handle a broad range of New Mexico civil litigation matters
- Manage pre-litigation and litigation files from case assessment through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, demand letters, and other legal documents
- Advise clients on strategy, risks, timelines, and next steps
- Represent clients in hearings, conferences, mediations, and court proceedings
- Support matters involving real estate, business disputes, contracts, and general civil litigation
- Assist with probate-related matters when and where experience allows
- Conduct legal research and provide practical legal analysis
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and firm leadership
- Help grow and strengthen the firm's New Mexico practice
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active New Mexico Bar admission
- 3+ years of legal experience
- Civil litigation experience
- Experience with real estate, business, contract, or commercial disputes
- Ability to manage pre-litigation and litigation matters independently
- Strong writing, research, analytical, and communication skills
- Excellent judgment and problem-solving abilities
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Team-oriented and adaptable mindset
