About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Promote, coordinate, and oversee kettle locations in Foothills and High River
  • Arrange daily delivery and pickup of kettles and ensure donation security
  • Coordinate volunteer schedules and respond to emergency absences
  • Visit kettle locations to ensure staffing compliance
  • Fill in at kettles to cover breaks or late arrivals
  • Ensure kettle locations have adequate literature, giveaways, and supplies
  • Assist with counting kettle income daily
  • Recruit, orient, and performance-manage kettle workers and volunteers
  • Work alongside kettle workers and volunteers
  • Contact churches, schools, businesses, and other organizations to fill volunteer positions
  • Foster positive relationships with volunteers and businesses hosting kettle locations
  • Maintain accurate volunteer records
  • Prepare Thank You letters and student volunteer-hour records
  • Prepare an overall post-campaign report for the CFS Manager
  • Retrieve and store campaign equipment and supplies
  • Maintain accurate statistical data using the Kettle System
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Alternative combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Willingness to understand and support The Salvation Army’s mission and purpose
  • Compliance with the OH&S Act and Regulations and The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies
  • Prior kettle experience or equivalent is an asset
  • Experience in office administration and using general office equipment
  • Strong working skills and experience using MS Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced and occasionally stressful office setting
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to represent The Salvation Army positively, professionally, and engagingly
  • Must participate in online training and become proficient in Kettle System software
  • Satisfactory original Background Check required
  • Current Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License and current Driver’s Abstract required
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and split shifts
  • Willingness to travel between kettle locations
