About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide a safe and welcoming environment ensuring participant's immediate & basic needs are met and rights upheld.
- Implement risk management plans including preventative actions and mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate daily program of activities which model and foster participation & skills.
- Support participant self-determination, sense of safety and stability, through applied recovery oriented, person centred, strengths based and trauma informed practice skills.
- Work collaboratively with other staff teams to support participants to action treatment goals as per case plans.
- Assist participants to access community support & services.
- Monitor safety of participants and activities.
- Assist with other tasks as required, which may include, light cleaning, preparing rooms for new participants and transporting participants to appointments.
- Supervise the self- administration of medication.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A current and valid First Aid Certificate.
- A current and valid NSW Driver Licence.
- Minimum Certificate 4 qualification relevant to the work performed and or equivalent previous experience in relevant industry, and/or on the job training.
- Experience working with people with AOD and Co-occurring issues.
- AOD Certificate 4 Core unit AOD Skill set or willingness to undertake if required
