About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide intensive case management, assessment, planning, monitoring and crisis intervention.
  • Work one-on-one with clients in outreach settings.
  • Assist clients to build independence and achieve personal goals.
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with privacy and legislative requirements.
  • Establish and maintain service statistics and data to support program development.
  • Work closely with prison staff, corrective services, government agencies and community organisations.
  • Conduct case management in consultation with the Prisoners Support Unit, prison management and other relevant partners.
  • Promote the program within the community and contribute to ongoing service development.
  • Participate in regular planning and review sessions with the program team.
  • Ensure day-to-day service delivery aligns with The Salvation Army’s mission and policies.
  • Complete administrative tasks, including forwarding accounts for processing.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare, AOD Counselling or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in community services, or substantial experience in support and housing roles.
  • Strong case management skills with experience supporting marginalised clients with complex needs.
  • Ability to identify and respond to challenging behaviours, including hostility or aggression.
  • Understanding of best-practice principles relating to ex-offenders, crisis accommodation, homelessness, addictions, family violence and mental health.
  • Ability to work effectively within a prison environment (including completing required security training).
  • Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability and resilience in dynamic and high-pressure environments.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
  • Current Working With Children Check.
