Business Development Rep

• Develop, pitch, and sell print and digital advertising campaigns
• Build and maintain relationships with locally-owned businesses
• Represent The Tribune in a professional, community-oriented manner
• Track and report sales activity and progress toward revenue goals
• Support Tribune-produced events and sponsorship opportunities as needed

• Build and steward relationships with local businesses, civic leaders, and community organizations
• Generate revenue through ad sales, sponsorships, and business partnerships
• Manage all local fundraising efforts, including individual giving, corporate giving, and event-based fundraising
• Attend and actively participate in major community events
• Oversee distribution of the monthly print newspaper, in collaboration with The Tribune’s circulation team
• Help manage local audience inquiries related to business activities
• Serve as a local representative and ambassador for The Tribune’s mission

• Cover climate change and how it is affecting Utah, examining impacts on communities and sectors throughout the state
• File daily news stories and enterprise and accountability reporting
• Write quickly and accurately on deadline about complex environmental and climate issues
• Propose, conceive, and execute stories
• Pitch, report, and write at least one multi-month investigation or enterprise story per year
• Work with partner organizations on creating or adapting content to run in local newspapers and on Grist.org
• Have stories republished by the Utah News Collaborative and periodically adapted for a national audience on Grist
• Collaborate with colleagues and perform other duties as assigned
