About the role
- As a Senior Tax Associate, you will play a crucial role in the Finance Department by assisting with quarterly and annual tax provision preparation, federal, state, and foreign tax compliance, tax research, and other tax-related projects. You will work closely with the other members of the tax department and the broader accounting organization.
- In this role as Senior Tax Associate, you will be responsible to:
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and year-end ASC 740 tax provisions and maintenance of strong internal controls over tax reporting.
- Assist with the preparation of federal, state, and international income tax compliance calculations, including preparation of extensions and estimated tax payments.
- Review transfer pricing calculations and liaise with tax providers for the Company’s foreign jurisdictions.
- Assist with tax purchase accounting, acquisition integration, and other tax projects that arise during the course of business.
- Research and respond to sales tax questions submitted by internal and external customers.
- Support the sales tax function, ensuring that sales tax permits remain current.
- Maintain and reconcile tax depreciation and amortization schedules.
- Research and resolve tax notices received from various jurisdictions.
- As needed, conduct tax research on other issues and share findings with the tax department and other members of the organization.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Utilize accounting and tax software, including NetSuite, Floqast, OneSource, Vertex, and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously in a remote, deadline-driven environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and Renaissance clients to provide exceptional service and support.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment within the tax department.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
- Working knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code and Regulations in addition to US GAAP
- Minimum of two years of experience in public accounting
- Corporate tax experience utilizing knowledge of ASC 740 and US GAAP
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Ability and desire to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and staying current with tax laws
- Experience with transfer pricing and CFC foreign inclusion calculations (e.g. GILTI, subF) preferred
- Experience with OneSource Tax Provision/OneSource Income Tax software preferred
- Experience with UK taxation a plus
