- With offices in Los Angeles, New York, and Nashville, MusiCares provides a safety net to music professionals as they navigate unanticipated financial, health, mental health, and substance use needs. For more than three decades, MusiCares has been the leading service provider in this space. The Vice President, Health & Human Services is an integral leadership role at MusiCares. In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for envisioning and executing the strategic direction for all mission-focused work in alignment with organizational goals and objectives. MusiCares works in three primary service areas: 1) Customized Care (financial assistance, referrals to ancillary services, and placement in services), 2) Preventive Health Care, and 3) Educational Programs. You will be responsible for ensuring that MusiCares services are highly effective, responsive to the needs of our community, and delivered with consistent confidentiality and compassion. You will manage a talented and committed team of 15 individuals (including 5 direct reports) responsible for delivering services, data management, and community outreach. You will also work closely with the leadership team to ensure alignment with operational, financial, marketing, and fundraising objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Graduate degree in social work, public health, business administration or similar preferred. 15 years+ years of experience in social services, including 5+ years of experience at a non-profit organization in a senior role. Strong working knowledge of public benefits and non-public programs to assist those in need. A passion for leading and supporting a high-performing team. A nimble leadership approach to the ever-changing needs of the music community. Demonstrated experience successfully scaling and growing mission-based programs, providing fiscal oversite of a multi-million dollar department budget. An innovative and results-driven strategist with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to drive departmental growth and enhancements to operating platforms. Emotional intelligence with strong ability to communicate compassionately with individuals in need. Willingness and availability to travel approximately 5-10% of the time.
