• advocate for strong environmental policies by meeting with members of Congress and federal government officials
• develop collaborative relationships with legislators and congressional staff on both sides of the aisle
• serve as the Environment America voice in conservation coalitions
• recruit new partners
• raise money from foundations and individual donors to fund campaigns
• write reports, fact sheets, news releases, blogs, op-eds, and other forms of communication
• represent Environment America with reporters
• develop campaign plans and tactics
• recruit and manage interns and participating in staff recruitment efforts

Conservation and Wildlife Advocate

Associate

• Work with a broad range of organizations and constituencies across the political spectrum in Pennsylvania to promote solutions to climate change and implement policies to increase renewable energy.
• Organize webinars, community events and public meetings on topics related to climate change and renewable energy solutions.
• Organize media events and news conferences; write opinion pieces, news releases and press statements on topics related to climate change and renewable energy.
• Meet with, build relationships with, and convince elected officials to support climate solution policies introduced at the state, local and federal levels.
• Help build your team by recruiting volunteers, interns and full-time staff.
• Run a campaign office for the summer, knocking on doors to raise money to support our campaigns.

Climate Solutions Associate

Public Relations

• provide communications support to our network of environmental, health and consumer advocacy organizations
• elevate our campaigns and positioning through increased media mentions and more interviews with our leadership and subject matter experts
• be the point person for garnering coverage from key journalists for our issues and campaigns
• work with other members of the communications team to support connections with media across the country
• take ownership of media campaigns from gestation to fruition
• develop comprehensive, multifaceted communications strategies for ongoing and new campaigns
• write and assist in writing news releases, blogs, position statements and internal memos
• edit internal and public-facing writing for consistency, clarity and relevance
• build and maintain lists of media contacts
• pitch stories to journalists using persuasive writing and speaking skills
• recruit and manage interns and potentially oversee junior staff
