About the role
- Drive growth and expansion of childcare programs and services across Hamilton and surrounding areas.
- Lead and manage funder contracts and service agreements, including budgets, financials, tracking outcomes, and reporting.
- Build and develop strong relationships and partnerships with all levels of government and community partners.
- Identify community needs and develop or modify programs to respond to those needs and expand into new areas.
- Oversee and develop program budgets, including forecasting and analysis; develop, manage and monitor department budget.
- Develop programming strategies and identify governmental and non-governmental funding sources.
- Collaborate on strategic PR, marketing, and fundraising plans with Development and Finance departments.
- Directly negotiate funding agreements, grants, and renewals; ensure annual program evaluations and funder reporting on schedule.
- Represent the organization at community planning tables, events and public speaking engagements.
- Maintain confidentiality and foster a safe and healthy work environment.
- Directly manage, coach, recruit, train and evaluate staff.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Completion of a 4-year Bachelor's degree in social services, business or human services or equivalent.
- Experienced executive with demonstrated leadership experience in the not-for-profit sector.
- Strong business acumen with a proven track record in growing community-based programs and services.
- Knowledgeable in budgeting, forecasting and annual budget plans.
- Skilled in building government relationships and new partnerships within the community.
- Ability to lead and empower a team for day-to-day work and strategic planning.
- Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Police check or willingness to obtain at own cost.
- Ability to travel to multiple sites under the management of the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
