About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Project Management
- Develop and maintain comprehensive plans, including timeline and budget.
- Define and implement quality standards and ensure that deliverables meet or exceed these standards.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure processes are being adhered to and projects are understandable for all.
- Coordinate with Pivot’s Creative, Targeting, and Production departments to create the best possible products.
- Client Support
- Ensure written communication aligns with messaging goals.
- Work collaboratively with Pivot leadership on strategic decisions and creative development.
- Ensure clients are aware of project timelines and important updates.
- Update budgets and plans as timelines, universes, or client needs change.
- Content Creation
- Create campaign mail plans and budgets in coordination with internal departments.
- Draft concepts and copy that maintain client’s messaging goals.
- Manage client edits and feedback into mail pieces with great attention to detail.
- Oversee quality control of internal and external outputs to ensure error-free work.
- Internal Processes
- Participate in the proofreading and editing process.
- Mentor junior staff and ensure internal processes are followed.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 4+ years of experience with politics, organizing, advocacy, or labor unions is required; this may include internships, volunteer roles, and other relevant experience.
- 3+ cycles of campaign experience are strongly preferred.
- Expertise in project management.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills: writing, editing and proofreading excellence are essential for this role.
- Patience, understanding, and flexibility to adapt.
- Ability to adapt writing style to suit different audiences and work across teams.
- Commitment to racial equity, social justice, and democratic causes.
- Proven experience managing deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in Excel with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Special consideration will be given to candidates who also demonstrate:
- Previous direct mail experience.
- Previous client management experience.
- Ability to work west coast hours.
- Spanish fluency.
