About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Stock Manager is responsible for maintaining a high level of productivity, efficiency and customer service
- Manage the team responsible for stocking items on the shelves and ensuring the neat, orderly condition of the store
- Ensure customer service goals are continuously met
- Formulate and enforce picking goals for each area/zone of the warehouse
- Ensure dock to stock for most lines within 72 hours
- Work with purchasing to develop and implement procedures for unloading orders from vendors and stocking them on our shelves
- Ensure trucks/ trailers are efficiently and accurately loaded/ unloaded to support the efficient movement of goods and materials to their destinations to fulfill commitment to our customers and support sales objectives
- Work with dispatchers and outbound production team to enhance customer service via delivery vehicles
- Check in and post orders from hubs and vendors
- Maintain an accurate count of inventory
- Assist parts pullers to locate and identify parts
- Handle damaged deliveries, report damaged merchandise to shippers and vendors
- Coordinate with store manager and purchasing on inventory updates and replacements
- Maintain a meticulous standard for cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the warehouse
- Ensure that safety and compliance practices meet DOT and OSHA standards
- Maintain 5S warehouse principles are administered and followed on a routine basis
- Manage carrier (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.) and local (contract) delivery relationships
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2-4 years experience as a stock manager
- Expertise in supply chain, logistics, and time sensitive distribution required
- Experience with WMS/ inventory management system, RF technology and conveyor technology
- Must possess ability to multi-task and adjust to dynamic order flow fluctuations as needed
- Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to identify areas drifting behind in production and pro-actively take action to get back on track
- Experience in tracking metrics, including key performance indicators such as inbound/outbound productivity.
- Knowledge of automotive parts preferred
- Forklift, Hazmat and OSHA Certifications preferred
- Clean/ valid drivers license preferred
- Ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds, stand/ walk for up to 10 hours, able to squat, bend and reach, able to climb and descend stairs safely (applies to locations with stairs)
- Ability to work powered equipment (forklift, cherry picker etc)
- Maintain and promote workplace safety
