Accounting Manager

• Providing direction and support to the accounting unit processes
• Managing the monthly close process including journal entries, reviews, and reconciliations of general ledger accounts
• Providing detailed analysis and reporting of expenses to the Finance/Accounting and other PFSCM Units
• Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and directing and managing accounting administration within the Finance & Accounting Team
• Responsible for team performance on key performance indicators and staff management, development, support, and coaching of Staff Accountants and accounting-related positions
• Reviewing trial balances on a monthly basis, investigating abnormalities, and providing resolution recommendations as necessary.
• Reviewing project-based reconciliations for all bank accounts and asset and liability reconciliations, as well as accrued & accounts payable accounts.
• Serving as an approver for all accounting-related documents in the accounting system.
• Monitoring cash to GL balances and insurance charges regularly.
• Preparing and reviewing bank receipt vouchers to match incoming wire transfers and transfers between bank accounts.
• Leading financial audits, including preparing various audit schedules.
• Preparing Form 990 and submission
• Maintaining document retention in accordance with PFSCM policies and procedures.
• Developing, maintaining, and managing standard operating procedures and work instructions, including continuous improvement reviews and updates.
• Developing and maintaining an onboarding training program and regular refresher training for internal teams, new hires, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on processes and SOPs.
• Performing additional duties as necessary to increase team capacity and maintain performance.
