Provide interpreting services as needed for students or prospective students who are d/Deaf or hard of hearing
Ensure appropriate accommodations in academic settings
Provide interpreting support in meetings with faculty and staff
Provide interpreting services for public university programming
Work some evening and weekend hours as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree or NAD-RID certification
Completion of an Interpreter Training Program from an accredited institution
Proficiency in ASL, including Academic ASL
Mastery of a high register of the English language, including spelling, grammar, and extensive vocabulary
Ability to match the language style of the consumers and the setting
Ability to work a flexible work schedule to include evening and weekend hours
Successful completion of a background check
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check
A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process
