About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support operations of summer conferences, intern housing, and long-term guest accommodations
- Assist with oversight of summer conference and intern housing
- Develop comprehensive manuals and documentation for subordinate student manager positions
- Assist in managing the full guest experience lifecycle, from initial inquiry to final billing and invoicing
- Help lead planning and execution of Summer Conference and Intern Housing experiences
- Collaborate with Student Life Facilities and Student Life Dining Services
- Support planning, logistics, and financial processes for summer guests
- Create and update comprehensive training materials for subordinate managers and Student Assistants
- Report directly to full-time professional staff within the Student Life Events and Conferences office
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be a non-OSU student
- Minimum 1.5 years of leadership experience
- Completion of at least one full season with Events and Conferences
- Ability to work independently under pressure
- Familiarity with OSU employee conduct procedures
- Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively
- High attention to detail and proactive work ethic
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, and customer service platforms
- Availability to work 30–38 hours/week during summer and 3–15 hours/week during the academic year
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and weekdays as needed
- Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check; a drug screen or physical may be required during the post-offer process
