Assistant to the Chair, Office Manager
The Ohio State University, Main CampusProvide administrative and programming support to the Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics Department. Manage office coordination and assist with event logistics in a hybrid setup.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serves as primary administrative and programming support to Chair, faculty, and staff in the Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics (AEDE).
- Provides a coordinated point of contact and support for AEDE faculty and staff.
- Coordinates conference room and support room scheduling for AEDE faculty, staff, students, and outside users.
- Coordinates onboarding for AEDE faculty, staff, and student employees, and manages visits by department visitors.
- Provides logistical support for AEDE faculty, staff, and student employment searches and for AEDE events.
- Coordinates AEDE faculty and staff annual reviews and promotion and tenure processes.
- Maintains department policy and procedures documents and other administrative documents.
- Manages votes and elections in the department.
- Provides administrative support for the department Chair such as calendaring and meeting arrangements, event invitations/organization/logistics.
- Serves as HR Manager Liaison on behalf of the faculty manager.
- Serves as department Chair contact for college and university leadership and administration.
- Coordinates faculty and staff meetings including taking and distributing minutes.
- Coordinates and tracks department annual reporting and other administrative reports as required.
- Provides general office support and coordination functions for AEDE including managing key and card reader access for AEDE personnel, requests for repairs, and supervising student employees.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or GED.
- Expert user of Microsoft 365 Office Suite and Zoom.
- Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work according to CFAES Principles of Community.
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 6 years of relevant experience preferred.
