About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll, inventory, COGS and tax compliance.
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Develop, manage and maintain a sales reporting system for financial statement and sales commission purposes.
Work with the CEO and CCO on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
Partner with the CEO and department heads to provide actionable financial insights.
Support board and investor reporting.
Develop KPIs, dashboards, and financial models to guide business decision-making.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and filings.
Manage annual financial audits and, as needed, coordinate tax preparations with external tax consultant.
Develop internal controls and written accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
Review and as necessary recommend upgraded accounting systems and integrate into existing ERP and CRM platforms.
Update accounting processes so they are appropriate for a scaling, commercial-stage medtech company.
Support cross-functional operations, including in particular supply chain and manufacturing as financial complexity grows.
Manage/oversee onboarding of new employees, working with outside HR firm.
Working with the CEO and division leadership, help determine and recommend salary changes and annual bonuses, as well as other incentive compensation plans, as appropriate.
Manage the cap table through existing online platform.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
12+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Demonstrated ability to build budgets accounting systems and teams from the ground up.
Team-oriented mentality and a willingness to take on tasks and responsibilities as needed.
Experience with cloud-based accounting and ERP platforms.
CPA or similar highly preferred.
Experience in a startup, VC-backed, early-stage or high-growth company environment.
Experience with various forms of equity-based compensation.
