About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute conceptual, visually compelling marketing campaigns for the News product and All Access bundle across the reader and subscriber journey
- Design and adapt campaign creative across paid, owned and earned channels, including digital, social, email, in-app placements, app stores and OOH
- Translate in-product experiences, editorial formats and feature benefits into marketing assets that drive engagement and habitual use
- Create, implement and maintain Figma component libraries, style guides and design systems with pixel-perfect execution across platforms and devices
- Collaborate with writers, art directors, audio and video partners, marketing strategy, product design, audience insights and brand identity teams
- Develop and maintain scalable visual systems, templates and libraries for experimentation and brand consistency
- Work from creative briefs, participate in reviews and incorporate stakeholder feedback
- Create presentation materials and explain design decisions in relation to performance, user behavior and marketing strategy
- Bring fresh ideas and experimentation to marketing journalism, product experiences and subscription bundles
- Report to the Creative Director, Design, Marketing
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of hands-on graphic design experience at an advertising agency, digital agency, studio or in-house team, focused on marketing or advertising creative and growth-oriented campaigns
- Portfolio demonstrating thoughtful execution and conceptual thinking across social, digital display, email, in-app, app store and print
- Clear portfolio examples showing how design choices clarify complex ideas
- Deep proficiency in typography, layout, balance, hierarchy, proportion, color, emphasis and unity
- Expert-level skills in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, including components, styles, libraries and design systems
- Demonstrated expertise creating component libraries and style guides and ensuring pixel-perfect execution
- Proficiency in motion graphics and animation, including hands-on After Effects and other motion tools experience
- Experience partnering with developers and product teams to ship high-quality digital experiences
- Experience translating strategy into actions and showing initiative in addressing challenges
- Preferred: cross-functional marketing, media, product design, audience insights and brand identity experience; digital advertising and growth marketing trends; social media ecosystem familiarity; navigating complex organizations
