About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide specialized financial management services including accounting, budgeting, reporting and private award administration
  • Administer and maintain finance/accounting activities in accordance with TNC policies, procedures and best practices
  • Respond to moderately complex employee/management questions and problems based on advanced knowledge of their subject area
  • Coordinate multiple projects and deliverable outcomes on a timely basis
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, financial reports and communicate financial information to project staff
  • Prepare journal entries and other financial transactions
  • Maintain BU financial data, including journal entries, adjustments, and project records
  • Research transactions, prepare ad hoc reports, and identify follow-up actions as needed
  • Handle financial reporting and administration of private awards
  • Ensure programmatic commitments, TNC policies and procedures, financial standards and legal requirements are met and managed for compliance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field and 3 years' related experience or equivalent combination
  • Experience manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting data
  • Experience with accounting/financial issues and analysis
  • Experience using accounting and financial reporting systems, Workday preferred
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with GAAP and fund accounting principles, practices and regulations and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IRFS) (Canada)
  • Experience organizing time and managing diverse activities to meet deadlines
