About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage a portfolio of 75 – 125 donors, including donors with the capacity to give over $1,000,000.
  • Build donor engagement through activation including 125 visits and 275 moves annually.
  • Maintain prospect and donor records on TNC’s CRM, keeping records updated in a timely manner.
  • Annual fundraising goal of $1,000,000 or more.
  • Act independently and in supervisor’s stead as needed, exercise independent judgment to identify and solve problems.
  • Work in the understanding that decisions may have program-wide impact and may bind the organization financially or legally.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity and follow best practice in handling confidential information.
  • Ensure compliance with TNC policies and procedures and external (philanthropic sector/legal/IRS) requirements.
  • Meet financial responsibilities by working within a budget and meeting fundraising objectives.
  • Work collaboratively and supportively when engaging with people both internal and external to TNC, adhering to our values at all times.
  • Manage assigned projects, coordinating the work of peers and meeting deadlines.
  • Manage or participate in complex or sensitive negotiations if required.
  • Supervise support or administrative staff if required.
  • Persuasively convey the mission of TNC to diverse groups who are important to helping TNC reach its goals.
  • Travel frequently and on short notice, including to remote areas with donors and work long and flexible hours as needed.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Experience building and maintaining long-term relationships with fundraising constituents.
  • Experience in asking for and closing gifts of $25,000 or more.
  • Experience in managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in fundraising principles and practices.
