About the role

  • Manage non-rotating asset strategies for the site, including non-capital mechanical integrity fit for service evaluations and remediation or repair work
  • Ensure assets are in a safe to operate condition and document history of repairs and inspections
  • Operate the Risk Based Inspection program with the Mechanical Integrity Program Coordinator
  • Review inspection reports, complete non-conformance reports and communicate asset health to site leadership
  • Support site maintenance to manage the CMI backlog and work with Capital and Maintenance engineering on corrective action plans
  • Manage and execute non-capital mechanical and structural integrity related projects and inspections (internal and 3rd party)
  • Maintain proper documentation and evaluate risk based on inspection data and repair progress
  • Collaborate with Sustaining Capital, MI structural Engineering, MI inspectors to identify equipment needing capital repair/replacement
  • Maintain the site's Asset Health Register and create intake requests as needed
  • Provide recommendations to planners, coordinators, and other engineers on metallurgy and coatings-related queries
  • Perform or manage fit for service evaluations and reporting and develop repair plans and asset strategies
  • Participate in and/or lead continuous improvement initiatives, training, and safety improvements
  • Provide assistance and training to other work groups regarding coating, inspection, and welding
  • Act as resource for interpretation of codes and standards (API, ASME, National Building Code, HSWDG)
  • Participate in coaching, training, and career development efforts

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, major in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering
  • Engineer Sr: 8+ years or more of related experience in engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management
  • Experience with engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management (various levels listed: 0-2, 2+, 4+, 8+ years)
  • Knowledge of metallurgy and coatings
  • Knowledge of welding, inspection, and structural integrity practices
  • Familiarity with codes and standards such as API, ASME, National Building Code, HSWDG
  • Ability to perform fit for service evaluations and remediation or repair planning
  • Experience operating or supporting Risk Based Inspection (RBI)/CMI programs
  • Ability to review inspection reports and complete non-conformance reports
  • Documentation and asset health register maintenance skills
