About the role
- Manage a portfolio of capital projects for Faustina & Uncle Sam sites including asset sustaining, turnaround-related, opportunity, and large capital projects
- Provide leadership, support, and mentoring to Capital Project Engineers executing capital projects
- Work with stakeholders and business unit managers to ensure alignment through planning, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases
- Ensure safe and timely execution of projects and lead site capital risk reduction efforts
- Support pre-execution safety plans, confirm in-field 300-in-3 safety audits, lead 300-in-3 site review meetings, and ensure incident investigations are completed
- Support stakeholder coordination and communication to ensure projects meet project scope and quality, confirm QA/QC testing, and assist with post-project quality surveys
- Support development and refinement of project schedules and lead communication on critical schedules and schedule risks
- Support and verify preliminary and final project cost estimates; lead Project Planning and Engineering group to develop labor, equipment and material estimates and construction sequence
- Lead procurement tender process, bid review meetings, and communicate cost changes and key cost risks
- Provide weekly updates to Capital Project Leadership on project execution progress and lead additional communications when risks are identified
- With Project Controls support, lead creation and maintenance of annual and 5-year capital project plans and manage budget adjustments including offsets, deferrals, pull-ins, and carryover spending
- Coach and develop team members and mentor junior engineers toward on-the-job development and professional engineering licensing
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Professional Engineering License preferred
- 10+ years of proven experience in engineering, project management, and/or construction management, particularly in leading capital projects
- Previous experience leading and mentoring people preferred
- Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication (written and verbal), organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
- Proficiency with standard office-related software, project management software, and tools, along with Mosaic-specific software and tools
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
