About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute strategic and operational plans with the Board of Directors to scale the Foundation’s reach and impact
- Supervise, inspire, and coordinate daily workflows for the volunteer network, including board members, and 2 paid consultants
- Ensure legal, ethical, and regulatory compliance for nonprofit operations
- Support founders and board members as public representatives and ensure cohesive messaging
- Enhance brand awareness through multimedia content, social media strategy, and digital communications
- Build relationships with partners, donors, healthcare professionals, and institutional stakeholders
- Oversee peer support groups, research initiatives, and specialized committees
- Design and drive an annual fundraising strategy and timeline
- Develop, manage, and monitor the annual budget
- Partner with the Board Treasurer to deliver regular, accurate financial reports
Requirements
What you’ll need- Deep, demonstrable passion for the Munchausen Support Foundation’s mission and commitment to its core values
- Exceptional emotional intelligence for critical, emotionally charged conversations
- Stellar written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Ability to articulate complex medical/social issues to diverse audiences
- Proven track record building trust with survivors, family members, peer facilitators, and medical and academic professionals
- Demonstrated success in donor cultivation, securing gifts, and meeting fundraising benchmarks
- Grant-writing experience highly preferred
- Ability to read, analyze, and explain financial statements, build budget processes, and maintain rigorous accounting standards
- Experience reporting to or serving on a nonprofit board of directors
- Understanding of board development and strategic planning
- Sensitivity to and experience with vulnerable or traumatized populations, ideally in crisis intervention, domestic violence, or child abuse prevention
- Self-starting operational mindset suited to a fully remote environment
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed for conferences, foundation meetings, colleagues/collaborators, and donor engagement and solicitation
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of senior-level nonprofit management experience
