About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee day-to-day delivery of all Safecall investigations
  • Allocate the appropriate investigator to each matter and act as first point of contact throughout each case
  • Agree terms of reference with commissioning managers
  • Review investigation reports before delivery to clients
  • Lead high-profile, sensitive and complex investigations and investigate directly when required
  • Ensure accurate case records, billable hours, communications and documentation are maintained
  • Ensure governance, quality assurance and compliance across investigative practices
  • Lead and manage consultant investigators, including direction, performance oversight and professional development
  • Recruit and onboard additional investigators and maintain panel standards
  • Build capability and succession within the investigations function
  • Support adoption of emerging technologies and AI-assisted investigation techniques
  • Work with Business Development, Account Management and Enterprise Management on leads, proposals and contracts
  • Meet prospective and existing clients and present Safecall’s investigations capability
  • Act as subject matter expert on workplace investigations for sales activity, webinars, roundtables and thought leadership
  • Serve as senior escalation point for complex, sensitive or high-risk client matters
  • Ensure regular client communication and support resolution of billing, scope and fee disputes
  • Confirm accurate case and time data to support invoicing
  • Maintain and improve quality control systems, investigative methodologies and operational processes
  • Monitor service performance, investigator utilisation and quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and data protection requirements
  • Provide regular MI and reporting on case volumes, utilisation, pipeline, quality and operational performance to the Strategic Relationship Director
  • Support forecasting, capacity planning and resource allocation
  • Contribute to systems, reporting frameworks and management information development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Significant experience of conducting and managing workplace investigations across conduct, grievance, whistleblowing, fraud and regulatory matters
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams or panels of investigators, including work allocation, performance management and quality assurance
  • Strong understanding of employment law, regulatory requirements and data protection obligations related to workplace investigations
  • Experience developing operational processes, quality frameworks and governance arrangements
  • High standard of written English
  • Ability to produce and review clear, structured and legally robust investigation reports
  • Excellent organisational and case management skills
  • Ability to oversee multiple investigations simultaneously
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of professional services delivery, billing and resource management
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational delivery in a growing business
  • Experience of case management or investigations management systems is desirable
  • Background in professional services, HR consultancy, law enforcement, legal or regulatory environments is advantageous
  • Willingness to undergo credit and criminal record checks as part of the referencing process
