About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee the legal frameworks for Care.com’s consumer marketplace and compliance program
Lead the transformation of the legal function leveraging legal technology and AI
Guide product teams on compliance throughout the development lifecycle
Design self-service compliance tools for marketing
Maintain robust, accessible Terms of Service and Privacy Policies
Partner closely with Trust & Safety to refine protocols for incident response and platform integrity
Integrate “Privacy by Design” into all consumer features.

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 10 years of legal practice
Significant in-house experience at a technology or gig-economy platform
Proven ability to manage outside counsel on complex litigation
Deep familiarity with marketplace legal issues such as worker classification, Section 230, FCRA, and consumer disputes
Excellent drafting skills for consumer-facing policies
Ability to enable business through education and systems-thinking
Strong communication skills for complex legal risks and opportunities to senior leadership.
